Wasted Insult
So this is a conversation that I just finished having with a caller who called for legal advice about having her license suspended for not having paid her traffic tickets. (That was an annoyingly long sentence, Violet.)
Violet: Law Office, good afternoon.
Idiotic lady: "Yeah...umm (at this point I'm already hating myself for picking up the phone)...can I ask you a legal question?"
Violet: How can I help you Miss"
Idiotic lady: Yeah, so like I had gotten three tickets and over like 120 days have passed and now I have my license suspended. How much is it to unsuspend my license and pay off those tickets? (yeah, she actually said 'unsuspend')
Violet: If you would've paid the tickets in the first place you wouldn't have to be asking me how to 'unsuspend' your license. *Sadly, those were the words I wanted to tell her but instead I said something along the lines of
Violet: Unfortunately, I can't tell you prices on the phone only the lawyer can; but they do have the first consultation free and they also have payment plans.
Idiotic lady: 'click'...DIAL TONE.
Violet: Bitch!
Footnote: It's not really considered an insult if they're not on the phone anymore, Violet. Thank you, Violet.
