Friday I went out with Fran and her cousin, and the night was a total bust. We just wanted to hang out at the beach and have a few drinks when Fran's cousin's best-friend called wanting to go out clubbing. Talk about putting us on a fucking mission. I don't even want to talk about it.
Saturday was my best-friend's nephews birthday so I brought Steven (my nephew) so he could hang out with Alex's niece and nephew. I think my nephew found a new friend and everyone kept on telling me what gorgeous eyes he had (they're hazel) so I was blushing most of the night. I love my nephew.
Sunday I got to see my mom which was great. She brought food over to my place and after we ate and saw I, Robot we went to get some coffee and talk. We talked for over 2 hours. She's amazing. All in all, it was a good weekend!
After being single for well over a month my best friend asked me today how have a managed to stay celibate (I've been celibate for almost 2 years now), and this is what I responded...
To tell you the truth it hasn't been easy. I would LOVE to say that all this time without having to focus or think about getting or not getting it would allow me to focus on more important things but that's not the case. At times, when I can't it anymore I'll have a little "fun" with certain "toys" or movies but after a while of wanting to throw and break shit you learn to manage yourself, and gain some kind of self-control.
You tend to appreciate compliments more often and I've noticed that it's opened my eyes (and nose!!!) to spotting someone telling you "bullshit". I don't know how, but I never had that keen sense before...and I like it!!!
You have to remember always that no-one has ever died from lack thereof, but some have died DURING or AFTER the act of sex. That's a good reminder, atleast if you keep on telling yourself that you're bound to believe it...
